PST file is Microsoft Outlook data file that stores all your emails messages, appointments, contacts, notes and other items. By default, a PST file is created and saved in the location- Documents\Outlook Files, when you setup an email account in Outlook. 1. Open MS Outlook 2016, click Home tab and select New items.

Note: It automatically navigates to the default location folder where your Outlook data files are saved. If you want to save the newly created PST file in another folder, then just manually navigate to your desired location.

Method 2: Export your mailbox into a PST file in Outlook 2016

1. Go to File menu, select Open & Export and click Import/Export.

2. Choose Export to a file and click on Next.

3. Select mailbox and hit Next.

4. Browse the location where you want to save the new PST file, Enter Name, then click Finish.

5. Last enter a password and Verify password for the new Outlook data file, then click OK.
