So let\u2019s see why this happens and what can be done to resolve this issue.<\/p>\n<p>There are various scenarios under which you might come across this problem.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Unread Messages Filter <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Suppose you are looking at your emails i.e. mailbox through a filtered view, or through Unread Mail Search Folder, and you have also set the option configured to automatically mark emails as <em>Read <\/em>after \u2018x\u2019 seconds, then these emails can automatically disappear after being marked as <em>Read<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Suppose you are in an (Unread Mail) Search folder, then switch back to the Inbox folder and check if the emails are present. If you are already in the Inbox folder, then see to it that the view is not set as <em>Unread Messages in This Folder<\/em>, or you have a filter applied to your view.<\/p>\n<p>In order to change or reset your view, follow this:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To change View: <strong>View \u2013 Change View \u2013 Compact<\/strong> (optionally set the Arrangement to Date)<\/li>\n<li>To reset View: <strong>View \u2013 Reset View<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Third party add-ins <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Emails automatically moving can also be caused by any add-ins which you might have installed. Depending on the way they are been used, emails might appear in the Inbox and then be directly removed from it. The add-ins usually responsible for this issue are anti-spam filters and virus scanners which integrate with Outlook.<\/p>\n<p>If you have such add-ins installed, then check their settings to see how they affect emails. For instance, are they moving emails to another folder, deleting it directly, or moving it to some other storage location on their own?
