Troubleshooting – Error Loading Media File Could not be Played

Update Google Chrome using the steps below.

  • Open Chrome and click on the three vertical dots (on the top right corner)
  • Click on Help > About Google Chrome
  • You should see an Update Chrome option, click on it. This will update your Chrome browser.

If this doesn’t help resolve the issue, proceed to the next step.

  1. Reset browser settings

Resetting your browser settings may help resolve the error. Follow these steps to reset them.

  • Open Chrome and click on the three vertical dots (on the top right corner)
  • Click on Settings > Advanced
  • Under Rest and Cleanup, click on Reset settings

 

  1. Disable hardware acceleration

Hardware acceleration is generally enabled to provide a better viewing experience. Try disabling it and play your media file. To disable hardware acceleration, follow the steps below.

  • Open Chrome and click on the three vertical dots (on the top right corner)
  • Click on Settings > Advanced
  • Under System, turn off Hardware acceleration when available
